CBHI is the National Nodal Institution for Health Intelligence in the country with broad objectives to:

Ø      Maintain and Disseminate the (i) National Health Profile (NHP), (ii) Health Sector Policy Reform Options Database (HS-PROD), (iii) Inventory and GIS Mapping of Govt. Health Facilities in India, etc.

Ø      Review the Progress of Health Sector Millennium Development Goal (MDG) in India.

Ø      Annual Road Safety Profile of India.

Ø      Facilitate Capacity Building & Human Resource Development, and

Ø      Need Based Operational Research for Efficient Health Information System (HIS) as well as use of Family of International Classification in India & South East Asia Region.
